متن العقيدة الواسطية – ابن تيمية Matn al-ʿAqīdah al-Wāsiṭiyyah – Ibn Taymiyyah

هذا المتن المبارك كتبه شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية في الرد على من خالف عقيدة أهل السنة والجماعة في باب الأسماء والصفات، وقد جاء بطلب من قاضٍ من واسط بالعراق، فصاغه بأسلوب مختصر ولكنه غني بالدلائل والنقول عن السلف. تميز هذا المتن بإثبات ما أثبته الله لنفسه أو أثبته له رسوله ﷺ من غير تحريف ولا تعطيل ولا تمثيل ولا تكييف، مما يجعله من أدق وأقوى ما كُتب في تقرير منهج السلف في الصفات. وقد صار المتن محل اهتمام العلماء منذ تأليفه، ويُوصى بحفظه وشرحه.

This compact creed was authored by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah in response to a request from a judge in Wasit, Iraq. Despite its brevity, it remains one of the most powerful articulations of Sunni doctrine, especially in the realm of Allah’s names and attributes. It affirms everything Allah affirmed for Himself, without distortion, denial, likening, or delving into the ‘how’. Rich in evidence from the Qur’an, Sunnah, and statements of the Salaf, “al-ʿAqīdah al-Wāsiṭiyyah” has become a central text in Salafi curriculum and continues to be studied, memorized, and taught globally.
